Random thoughts during my vacation..

Posted by Kedar on Tuesday, 31 July, 2007

An idle mind is somebody’s workshop.. so here is what I was thinking during my week-long vacation.

  • Vacation for a family man, to me, is just like a tip of balance between his office work and house work!
  • After centuries of civilized living, at least some potty training should’ve got inscribed into the human DNA!! I am waiting for that generation when babies won’t need diapers. They will be potty trained at birth!! Unfortunately that’s not my son’s generation :-(
  • Accidents happen when space and time align themselves perfectly in favor of your bad luck..
  • Vacations always seem too short on their last day!

Some quotes..

From the “Words I wish I wrote” book by Robert Fulghum – thanks to Kevin Lawver for lending it to me.

No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit
–Helen Keller:

You can count how many seeds are in the apple, but not how many apples are in the seed.
–Ken Kersey:

You risked your life, but what else have you ever risked? Have you ever risked disapproval? Have you ever risked economic security? Have you ever risked a belief? I see nothing particularly courageous in risking one’s life. So you lose it, you go to your hero’s heaven and everything is milk and honey ’til the end of time. Right? You get your reward and suffer no earthly consequences. That’s not courage. Real courage is risking something you have to keep on living with, real courage is risking something that might force you to rethink your thoughts and suffer change and stretch consciousness. Real courage is risking one’s clichés.
–Tom Robbins:

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

Assumptions

I believe life is all about assumptions.. the biggest of them is being alive the next moment!

A great saying..

If all you’ve got is a hammer, every problem tends to look like a nail.
