I'm Back..

Somehow, sometime in 2018 or so, most of my self-hosted Blogs got attacked with crazy junk and I had to take them down one by one.. Life kept happening and I lost touch with Blogging. Almost 9 years after my last post, I have revived somik.net and three of my Blog sites including this. Now hosted by a more reliable Blogger.com platform, I am less worried about my blogs getting attacked🤞

So here I am.. I don't know what I am going to write. I am much older and possibly wiser, with some more mistakes under the belt.. isn't that after all what life is? A string of mistakes and recovering from them?! 😉😎

Year 2026 is where I am getting back to doing things I had almost stopped or slowed down on - Writing, Photography, building Software, and Sports. A lot has happened..

Some highlights of the years gone by -

  1. Four Job changes : Sep 2019, Apr 2022, Feb 2024, Apr 2025
  2. Caught in a worldwide Covid pandemic starting in Mar 2020.
  3. Lots of Singing and being part of local Karaoke groups
  4. Stopped personal posts on Social Networking like (initially Orkut) Facebook. I still use Facebook and Instagram for my Photography and Software posts and sometimes some quips too😃
  5. Experienced and Photographed the first ever Total Solar Eclipse in Mar 2024. More on that on my Photography Blog
  6. Major Health issue: Got hospitalized and was out for 3 months on Short Term Disability from work starting in Apr 2024.. slowly recovered by Nov 2024. This has finally forced me to start leading a healthier lifestyle!
  7. Restarting my Software gig at Softricks.net, my Blogs, and rekindling creative interests starting Feb 2026. I now have four Mobile Apps on Apple App store, one on Android and a Product suite for DNS Networking. Working on a few more. I am not a Microsoft or Apple, but I do it because I enjoy it!
  8. AI (Artificial Intelligence) has taken over big time and it is almost boring to even talk about it.. But it can write on your behalf and do a lot more.. some of which is pretty disturbing. No, my blogs are not written by AI however!
As I am typing this, I am wondering who even wants to know all this?! 😂

A simple answer to this is - Nobody! I am not a celebrity, nor have I achieved anything for anybody to have any interest in my life. But like a famous Marathi writer and amazingly talented personality P. L. Deshpande said (translated) - "so what if I am not a celebrity, does it mean an average man should not write his biography"? 

So here I am.. back to pushing my thoughts into the digital media. As I close this post, I want to ask you - have you ever wondered about your life and tried to summarize every decade in your life?

Is Life Fair to You?

 Hello everyone! Well I just recently had my annual review. And as usual, I came out with the same feeling as always.. Dissatisfaction! But can you blame me? Tell me one thing, is there anyone here who thinks that he deserves less than what he is already getting?
