Hello World!

Hello World! The ubiquitous Hello World.. to announce something!

Is Life Fair to You?

Hello everyone! Well I just recently had my annual review. And as usual, I came out with the same feeling as always.. Dissatisfaction! But can you blame me? Tell me one thing, is there anyone here who thinks that he deserves less than what he is already getting? Is there anyone who says, oh, I am a pretty useless fellow, so I don’t really deserve this increment or bonus or whatever it is.. Does it ever happen? No, everyone in fact, feels like Life has not been fair to them.. My dear (friends), is Life fair to You?… Don’t even think about it, the answer to this question, is almost without exception, a big NO! A secondary corollary to this is – “Life is fair, but to someone OTHER than me..”! And the irony of this is, Each one of us thinks this way! πŸ™‚ Well, we are all human beings.. and we like to complain.. That’s understandable, nothing wrong with that! It’s in our genes.. Even my Son started saying “This is unfair”, since the age of 3..!! Daddy, it’s not fair that I don’t get a t...

Lifetime To-Dos/Dreams..

I actually borrowed this idea from another blog because it makes total sense.. Like most of us, I did want to do way too many things in life and I still do. But because life is so “one-way” and time never stops, I kind of kept dropping the ball on each one of them one by one. So this post will let me at least remember all the things I wanted to do in my life.. ..if there is another life and I still remember the blog address for this life (!!) and if my hosting company is nice enough not to nuke my site, since I won’t be paying for it during the time between my 2 lives (!!), then I can come back to read about this life and try to do the things I wanted to do, in the new life! πŸ˜‰ With that *simple* hope, here goes: DREAMS I remember when I was a kid, I used to love breaking stones with a hammer!! So there was a time when I used to say I want to do that in life! Overtime, I realized that this is not really an exciting and profitable dream to hold onto πŸ™‚ When you are a kid, who doesn’t fe...

This Place..

One of my most favorite scenes in a movie is the animated sequence in ‘Time Machine’ where the whole world changes around the house - from this point in time to millions of years in the future. You see the house getting older, then collapsing and things just keep happening around it, wars get fought, climates change, landscapes change, new people appear, all kinds of things happen.. all at the same location. It kinda’ puts certain things in perspective in my opinion. The things we are so passionate about.. I am this, I am that, this is my house, my car, this is where I belong, this land is mine, .. is so short lived. Nobody even knows you existed at that location on earth in a few years. If one just thinks about it, all the great people in the history, walked the same earth that we are walking on now which was walked on by Dinosaurs some millions of years ago. I mean, where does that leave a single human being? This is bad! I don’t like it. With all the intelligence and arrogance in th...

Lifetime change..

When you talk about lifetime changes, you tend to think about getting married, having a kid, buying a house, getting divorced.. well, you know what I mean😁 I went for a change in my life recently with the same bit of seriousness, as I would for all of the above, and it makes sense that I call it a “Lifetime change” too… The change was simply that I finally dumped Windows for a Mac after about 16 years! For the non-savvy and non-technical, this may sound trivial. But having spent almost every day of my life, for the last 16 years, in front of different types of computers, I think they too, deserve to claim a piece of my life. You know, I have ‘dated’ a lot of them.. a weird one called ZX Spectrum back in 1988 that ‘claimed to be a computer’ with a Cassette tape (!), the oldie PC XTs, the ATs, Honeywell Unix terminals and many other Unix terminals whose names I have forgotten, the IBM mainframe terminals, PC 286s, 386s, 486s, Pentiums xxx, Dual cores… bla bla bla. And I have seen th...
